The Huichol, also known as Wixárika, are an indigenous group primarily located in the states of Jalisco, Nayarit, Zacatecas, and Durango in Mexico. They are celebrated for their intricate yarn paintings, spiritual practices involving peyote, vibrant beadwork, and strong spiritual connection to their ancestral lands. Central to their spiritual practices is the annual pilgrimage to the sacred land of Wirikuta, where peyote grows, symbolizing their deep reverence for the land and the natural world.
