Partera Mezquite Bar Stool
The partera stool is part of a series of pieces we created during our extended stay in Guanajuato. It is a modern reinterpretation of the classic "partera" or birthing chair that originated in Mexico in the 16th century. This design aims to continue the long tradition of reinvention that Mexico is renowned for. Despite its appearance, the stool is surprisingly comfortable, making it ideal for a relaxed outdoor bar setting, or in a lower version for use at a kitchen counter.

Made in Guanajuato
In Guanajuato, the use of mezquite and leather has been a way of life since colonial times, serving as traditional materials for furniture and utensils. Known for its dense and heavy nature, mezquite wood ages gracefully over time, developing a deeper and richer tone. Additionally, embroidered leather belts and objects are a significant element of the charrería, a symbol of Mexican cowboy culture.
