The Casa Oaxaca was the first molcajete that we developed around 18 years ago, alongside the expert guidance of Alejandro Ruiz, a friend and famed chef of Casa Oaxaca Restaurant in Oaxaca. A beautiful tool to make Salsa mortajada, or from mortar and pestle.

Our Cantera pieces are handmade using a few power tools to shape and then hand finished with hammer and chisels. They are made with "Piedra de Metate" a stone from the Tlacolula valley that has been used for metates (grinding stones) for hundreds of years. Beautiful, soft and in 3 shades of gray, each piece is completely unique.
