Painted Patzcuaro Pilgrimage Tray. C. 1940's
Expertly crafted, this delightful tray from Patzcuaro honors Lola and Juan's pilgrimage from their home somewhere in Michoacan, to the colonial town of Patzcuaro. It was customary to create these mementos, which would later be displayed in the pilgrims' home as a token of their journey and a plea for the protection and blessings of their revered saint at their destination.
