The Cueva Bench is uniquely designed with organic shapes, drawing inspiration from Michoacan's caves. These caves serve as a muse for reflection on "lost objects and trapped stories". The bench features a natural reed weaving that evokes the marks and cracks of time, crafted by a skilled family of artisans in Ihuatzio, Michoacan. The combination of durable metal and delicate chuspata weaving make this bench a true work of art, embodying the history and beauty of Lake Patzcuaro.

We encountered Axoque Studio while collaborating on a project in the Mexican Bajio region and were immediately impressed by the craftsmanship of these talented young designers from Morelia. Through the use of traditional materials, techniques, and oral histories, they have produced a diverse collection of both functional and storytelling pieces that exude remarkable beauty.

Chuspata is a reed from the shores of lake Patzcuaro that is typically fashioned into many objects for the home use. The reed is harvested and dried to the right point for weaving by families that live around the famous lake in Michoacan
