About Deshilado
Deshilado is one of Mexico’s most intricate textile traditions. Created by carefully withdrawing individual threads from a woven linen or cotton cloth and reweaving the remaining fibers by hand, the technique transforms the fabric itself into an openwork lace. Every border is formed thread by thread, requiring extraordinary precision and hours of skilled handwork.

In Querétaro, generations of artisans have preserved this tradition, producing heirloom-quality linens that combine utility with remarkable craftsmanship. Today, deshilado remains one of the finest expressions of Mexican embroidery, celebrated for its delicate geometry, enduring beauty, and the patience required to create it.
