Shoemaker "Sling Swinger" Lounge Chair c.
This remarkable rocking armchair, known as the 'Swinger Chair' due to its unique pivoting mechanism that allows you to swing in your seat, was designed by renowned modernist designer Don Shoemaker for Senal S.A. (Mexico) in the 1960s. Crafted from cocobolo rosewood and black leather, it has become a highly coveted piece among interior designers and passionate collectors.
The sling of the chair features thick black leather hides, accentuated by leather buttons that connect it to the chair's frame. Additionally, the chair comes with a removable seat cushion made of matching black leather, showcasing a beautiful patina, as depicted in the accompanying photos. The chair's artistic design is further enhanced by the sculpted exotic cocobolo wood. Marked with paper label.

Don Shoemaker revolutionized furniture design at Señal S.A with his modern interpretation of traditional Mexican furniture. Drawing inspiration from the rich heritage of Mexican woodworking, he crafted timeless masterpieces from Cocobolo, a rare Mexican rosewood, and other exquisite woods. Establishing a prosperous operation in the hills near Morelia in the late 1940s, he not only achieved remarkable success but also contributed to the economic growth of the region by creating employment opportunities for a multitude of skilled local artisans.
