Belloli Partera Chair
The partera chair, an iconic fixture of the Bajio region in Mexico, has undergone numerous reinterpretations over the years. Bellioli's rendition, known as the sling chair, remains true to the original with its distinctive three-legged support, yet with a discernible modernist influence. Constructed today to adhere to the original specifications, the chair's steel frame is finished in black and is adorned with artisanal leather sourced from the nearby Leon in Guanajuato. This contemporary adaptation seamlessly integrates traditional craftsmanship with innovative design principles.

Designer
Georgio Belloli was a Venetian architect and sculptor who arrived in Marfil, Guanajuato in the late 40s and established himself in an old gold ore hacienda. He was responsible for restoring buildings in the area, with attention to history, but a modern sensibility. The partera chair is his most famous contribution to Mid Century Modern Mexico.
