Mezquite Mushroom Table

The Mezquite Mushroom Table is inspired by a rare vernacular form discovered in the Bajío region of Mexico and reinterpreted for contemporary interiors.

Hand turned and assembled block by block in Dolores Hidalgo, Guanajuato, each table is crafted from solid mezquite, a hardwood prized for its rich color, dramatic grain, and natural imperfections. Knots, voids, and small fissures are preserved as part of the material's character, ensuring that no two pieces are exactly alike.

Defined by its sculptural, totemic silhouette, the table serves as both functional furniture and architectural centerpiece.

Embajada Original

Embajada Original is a collection of furniture, lighting, textiles, and objects designed by Raúl Cabra and produced in collaboration with workshops throughout Mexico.

Many of these pieces were originally created for a specific place or purpose—a home, a hotel, a restaurant, or a client commission. Over time, they became part of a growing body of work deeply rooted in the landscapes, materials, traditions, and design history of Mexico.

Each piece begins with a process of observation, research, and reinterpretation, drawing from the country's vernacular objects, architecture, craftsmanship, and cultural memory. Through this process, familiar forms are transformed into objects that feel both rooted and contemporary.

Produced one at a time or in small batches, the collection is available exclusively through La Embajada. Every piece carries with it both the history that inspired it and the character of the place where it was created.

About Crafted Pieces
Crafted in small workshops throughout Mexico, our pieces are made by hand using traditional techniques and natural materials. Variations in color, texture, grain, and finish are part of the making process and reflect the hand of the artisan behind each piece.
