Made in Campeche
Jipijapa is a palm that grows in Yucatan and Campeche and that takes its name from the famous palm of Ecuador, where the finest hats are made from the same plant. The pieces are worked inside deep man made caves that each family makes and maintains within their property boundaries. Each palm is carefully split into 2, 3 or 4 "partidas" the finer the split the harder and more laborious is the weaving, and the finer the piece that results.
