Susurros Batik Cotton Napkin

Sale price$22.00

Susurros Batik Cotton Napkin
Woven from natural cotton on traditional pedal looms, these generously sized napkins feature a layered blue pattern inspired by the appearance of traditional batik textiles. Rather than hand-dyeing, the design is applied through a silkscreen process, creating a bold graphic effect while preserving the texture and character of the woven cloth. Originally developed for Susurros del Corazón, the Auberge Resorts property in Punta Mita, the collection was designed for relaxed outdoor entertaining — from long lunches on the terrace to casual gatherings by the pool.

About Pedal Loom Weaving in Michoacán
The pedal loom was a Colonial introduction adopted throughout Mexico as an alternative to the backstrap loom — the standard cloth-making technique of the pre-Hispanic world. The looms are wooden, typically built by the weavers themselves, and allow for wider cloths than their backstrap counterparts. A highly skilled and demanding craft, pedal loom weaving produces remarkable textiles in cotton, wool, silk, and countless other fibers — a living tradition that continues across communities in Michoacán.

Care
Machine wash separately. Do not use bleach. Please note: napkin will shrink 5–10% after first wash.

About Handmade Pieces
Crafted by hand using techniques passed down through generations of master artisans. Variations in color, texture, and finish are inherent to the process — each piece is, by nature, one of a kind.
