Mexican Coat of Arms
Originating from an Aztec legend, in which one of their gods (Huitzilopochtli) guided them to build their city where they saw an eagle perched on a cactus, devouring a serpent. The Aztecs saw this symbol on an island in Lake Texcoco and established the city of Tenochtitlan, what is now present day Mexico City.
