About Jacinta
Founded by Daphne Garcidueñas in Morelia, Michoacán, Jacinta collaborates with artisans across the state to create handcrafted objects rooted in Mexico’s rich artisan traditions. By bringing together traditional techniques and contemporary design, the collection seeks to honor craftsmanship, support artisan communities, and preserve the cultural knowledge embodied in each piece.

About the Pedal Loom Tradition of Pátzcuaro
The pedal loom was introduced to Mexico during the 16th century and became an important part of textile production throughout Michoacán. In the communities surrounding Lake Pátzcuaro, generations of weavers adapted the technique to produce durable cotton textiles for the home, including table linens, bed coverings, and household cloths. Today, family workshops continue this tradition, creating colorful woven textiles distinguished by bold stripes, geometric patterns, and practical everyday use. The craft remains an enduring expression of the region’s cultural heritage and living artisan traditions.

About Handmade Pieces
Crafted by hand using techniques passed down through generations of master artisans. Variations in color, texture, and finish are inherent to the process — each piece is, by nature, one of a kind.
